UK Water-Energy Nexus under climate change
Published by the Whole Systems Energy Modelling consortium (WholeSEM) this report examines key issues and priorities relating to the UK water-energy nexus under climate change.
The report was co-authored by Professor Dick Fenner with Dr Dennis Konadu, Professor Keith Richards and Professor Julian Allwood and is based on a series of invited contributions from industry specialists to examine potential future challenges with water and energy system interdependencies in the UK. A number of recommendations are made including the need for institutional reform all levels - in research, disciplinary structures, organisations, administration and regulation, to enable multi-disciplinary approaches to key management questions and to institutionalise a process of testing single-discipline decision making across the boundaries of other disciplines. A similar report on UK land and energy interactions was published previously.
