Est 2000 - home of the MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development

Charlie holds a MEng (2016) and an MRes (2017). His first degree focused on retrofitting seawalls to mitigate overtopping. Charlie's PhD research focused on catchment-scale Natural Flood Management (tree planting, floodplain reconnection, moorland restoration, woody dams etc.). He used a modelling methodology to investigate the impact such interventions have on the functioning of outfalls from urban surface drainage networks.

Charlie was funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council through the FIBE Centre for Doctoral Training.
