New Approaches To Wastewater Treatment In Disaster Relief

Disasters can affect the provision of clean water and hygienic sanitation, which are crucial for maintaining public health. Excrete disposal in emergencies has often been a low priority. The selection of excreta disposal solutions is site and population-specific, and requires the consideration of environmental and social factors. A decision flowchart for the selection of appropriate sanitation solutions has been  generated to assist the relief engineer.
