Centre for Sustainable Development

Est 2000 - home of the MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development

The challenges of the growing urban population, combined with the demands for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, present particular challenges. The research in the Centre is consistently cross disciplinary in its nature and delivery, and embraces social and environmental aspects as well as economic and technical issues. The research group covers a wide range of work from valuing heritage in impact assessment to future proofing in design, and social attitudes to energy efficiency in homes.
