Phil Callaghan is collaborating with the Centre for Sustainable Development by leading a module in Lent term for the MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development titled "Policy, Legislation and Government Issues."

Phil worked at Defra (May 1995 - June 2011) as a Senior Sustainability Expert. He  was an experienced policy analyst and was involved in the development and negotiation of sustainable development and key environmental policies at the international, European and national levels. He has also some experience of sustainable development research and use of systems thinking in environmental decision making.

Phil is now  leading the 'Policy, Legislation and Government' module on the MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development programme at Cambridge as well as lecturing on sustainability and environmental issues at the Open University as part of the London based team. He is also Treasurer and Director at Dol-llys Housing Ltd, a housing co-operative based in mid Wales.
