A new report on "Solutions for the Global Water Crisis" has been published by Citi under their Global Perspectives and Solutions series.
A new report on "Solutions for the Global Water Crisis" has been published by Citi under their Global Perspectives and Solutions series and can be downloaded at https://www.citivelocity.com/citigps/ReportSeries.action?recordId=61. Dr Dick Fenner was one of the co-authors of the material which was co-ordinated by Dr Liz Curmi, a Global Thematic Analyst at Citi and formerly a Research Associate at Cambridge University affiliated to the Centre for Sustainable Development. Dick's contribution focuses on the section Framing the Solutions and includes material drawn from the Foreseer Project on highlighting the importance of the integrated management of water, food and energy resources together with a section on using green infrastructure to achieve multi-functionality in urban stormwater management. The report concludes there isn't a shortage of available solutions. Finding the right solution is a matter of good governance, and choosing a mix of solutions that works for each local community. It is, however, imperative that these are fully implemented as otherwise we will be sleepwalking into a global water crisis.
