The Worshipful Company of Water Conservators Bursary

The Trustees of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators have generously awarded a £4000 bursary to Francesca O’Hanlon, a student on the MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development, for payment against fees.

Francesca O'Hanlon, who studied civil and environmental engineering at Imperial College, and has relevant water experience in El Salvador and Mexico working on chlorination of rainwater harvesting systems. She wants to pursue work in water and sanitation in developing countries and will work with a Canadian Aid Agency with whom we have good links, the Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technologies - (CAWST)  -based in Calgary for her Dissertation research. This will involve her in an evaluation of their performance as an NGO in the water sector, in one of the countries in which they operate, possibly Central America or the Caribbean. She also has work experience for Schlumberger as a Field Engineer.
