An article by the CSD's PhD student Emma Houiellebecq is featured in the 2022 edition of The Scholar, a Gates Cambridge publication.  Emma's work addresses the challenges of maintaining essential infrastructure, such as the provision of electricity and water, in the Gaza Strip.  "Coping with Conflict in the Gaza Strip: Keeping the lights on and the taps running" can be found on The Scholar online.

Emma is a two-time winner of Gates Cambridge Awards: her first award was in 2016 for her MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development, while her current award is for her PhD work with Dr Kristen MacAskill.
