Jenny Ya He joined the Centre for Sustainable Development in 2009 to investigate financing mechanisms for energy efficiency.
She is a member of Murray Edwards College.
Jenny's research project looks at financing mechanisms for hotel LED retrofit projects. It provides one of the first few academic analyses of the rapidly developing energy efficiency finance industry. In her research, Jenny works closely with the energy efficiency finance industry, the LED industry and the hospitality sector. She has collaborated with Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Seimens Financial Services, Royal Electronic Philips, Marriott International and Whitbread PLC. In April 2012, Jenny organised an international roundtable attended by UK and US policy-makers and industry leaders to share experiences on energy efficiency finance. She has established a communication platform with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of Oxford to further enhance collaborations and knowledge exchange in the area.
Jenny’s passion for sustainability stems from her childhood experiences of living in the UK and China. Her exposure to different environments and cultures instilled in her a sensitive understanding of the interaction between society, development, and natural resources. In her spare time Jenny enjoys dancing, swimming and reading.
Jenny is awarded a scholarship from the Cambridge Overseas Trust.
